I love molding a used, older rental into a fresh, lovely home. There’s something so invigorating about bringing in your own style and romance into a home especially on a newlywed’s budget.
Our newest rental is full of charm but needed a few fresh updates to it. Here are 4 of my favorite, diy projects I intend to bring into our home.
I love Grace Lee Cottage and the updated entry way in their farmhouse. In fact, I adore everything about their home’s style. I would love to update our back entry by creating a small, but practical storage area like above.
Our kitchen is smallish but full of character and charm. In an effort to keep clutter down and keep the 1950’s feel clean and classy I hope to follow this picture’s beautiful trend. I love the clean look of keeping ingredients on the counter in glass containers with a few recipes framed.
These peel-and-stick stripes are too much. I love our fireplace and think adding these rental-friendly, eye catching stripes are perfect. Megan at The Homes I Have Made transformed her area using paper from the Target clearance bin. Win!
Hence, these diy lace window coverings from Remodelaholic. If I cannot find thick, opaque lace I’d feel comfortable changing besides during late night showers, there are plenty of ways to get the frosted-window look without going over budget.
Ah, I’m already feeling inspired and ready to create beauty in our charming rental. What about you? Are you in the middle of a beautiful, diy project? Or have you found a space that could use some tlc? Comment below about your latest creative adventures — I love hearing from you!
