Keeping in Touch with God when Life Get’s Busy // Coffee Series

Coffee-with-My-Lord1

Sweet readers, it’s time to sit down and enjoy a little coffee and love together.

These last couple of weeks have been pretty busy, the moments full of family, adventures and laughs.

And, to be honest, I didn’t spend a lot of time in God’s Word. When I wasn’t talking with someone I was cleaning up a mess, driving, sleeping or creating this blog. It was a long, wonderful week full of messy, beautiful life. Have you ever had life get in the way of the Bread of Life?

For me, I struggle with a sense of failure and shortcoming when I let the busyness of life keep me from getting into God’s Word or a time of prayer. Pretty soon I walk around like a poor, condemned zombie who is angry with her feelings yet too busy to address them; too busy to get to the roots of the issue.

That I’m still relying on works to keep me righteous.

The good thing about being a Christ follower is that I have a Christ who loves me enough to get me out of the muck; a God Who cares enough to remind me of His faithfulness.

I propose that when life seems too busy to get into the Word and your feelings too dark to feel God’s hand that you choose to remember Who your righteousness is.

But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption

Sweet one, read that and soak in the truth. If you are a Christ follower then Christ Jesus has been made (by God) your wisdom, your righteousness ,your sanctification and your redemption. You are completely holy in Him — a work that is being finished yet is completely whole.

So while it is so important to be daily feeding in the Word of God I want to encourage you to rest fully in the Father’s great work in you.

And remember that when life is messy, busy and distracting staying in touch with your Lord is as easy as remembering Him in all things. As you kiss your children do it with a heart that says, “Thank you, Lord, for these little people. I love you and them.” Or, when you’re busy hosting guests and cooking meals do it with a heart of praise thinking, “Oh, how good it is to use what you’ve given us, Lord, to bless others. Thank you for your goodness.” I promise, this is the right way to keep in touch with God when life is crazy. Avoid feelings of condemnation and failure by basking in the finished work done in you.

Sing, love and laugh.

With so much love,
